FAQ

What to do if the toothpaste doesn't come out or comes out too fast?

Our toothpaste is designed to flow naturally with gravity. This makes it easy to use, especially for children, without needing to squeeze the bottle.

If the toothpaste doesn't come out: Make sure to store the bottle cap-down. If the problem persists, gently tap the bottle on a flat surface or shake it lightly to help the product move down.

If the toothpaste flows too quickly: Store the bottle cap-up after use to slow the flow.

How did you determine the fluoride dosage?

The UFSBD provides the following recommendations regarding toothpaste quantity and dosage:

  • 6 months - 3 years: a smear of 1000 ppm toothpaste
  • 3 - 6 years: a pea-sized amount of 1000 ppm toothpaste
  • from 6 years old to adulthood: a full brush length of 1000-1450 ppm toothpaste

How to ensure age-appropriate use for children?

Our toothpaste is designed to be easy to handle. It is even possible to remove the toothpaste from its outer part (where the label is fixed), allowing young children to use it autonomously, like a pen. However, we recommend adult supervision to ensure proper dosage.

At what age should you start brushing your teeth?

You can start brushing your little ones’ teeth as soon as they get them! There’s no age limit to starting good habits!

Is your toothpaste harsh on milk teeth?

The level of abrasiveness is essentially the “harshness” of the toothpaste—its abrasive power. For our toothpaste, it is 15: it gently cleans little teeth while preserving their enamel (for an adult with sensitive teeth, this level is usually around 50).

Can I use your toothpaste myself?

Our toothpaste has a very low abrasivity level; we recommend using a more abrasive toothpaste for adults. Additionally, the fluoride dose is not sufficient for an adult (which is 1450 ppm according to UFSBD recommendations).

Does your toothpaste contain sugar?

No.

It contains Xylitol, Erythritol and Sorbitol.
These are 100% natural “sugars” (scientifically known as polyols), which are non-caloric and non-cariogenic, making them suitable for diabetic children and effective in preventing cavities. Our toothpaste adds a slightly sweet flavor to the formula, making tooth brushing an enjoyable experience.

What is the pH of your toothpaste?

Our toothpaste has a pH of 7, so it's neutral. No acidity to protect the fragile enamel of little teeth.

Does your toothpaste contain nanoparticles?

Under this regulation (Article 2 of 1223/2009), a nanomaterial is defined as an "insoluble or bio-persistent, intentionally manufactured material with one or more external dimensions, or an internal structure, on a scale of 1 to 100 nm."
The particles of our silica are between 7 and 13 micrometers, i.e. 70 times larger than the largest nanoparticles.

Why do you use silica, and is it dangerous?

We have chosen to use silica in our toothpaste because it is the safest solution for us.
Silica is ultra-pure sand with a meticulously controlled particle size, ranging from 7 to 13 micrometers.
We preferred to avoid using clay due to its irregular particle size, its lead content (as what we had sourced contained approximately 1.3 mg of lead per kilo. This complies with cosmetic standards (2mg/kg), but we can never be too careful and preferred not to use it, can we?) and its composition which can vary depending on the season and its origin.
We also decided to avoid baking soda, as it gives a very bitter taste that is impossible to mask: not ideal for children.

I'm pregnant, can I use your toothpaste?

Our toothpaste does not contain essential oils or substances that could harm your health during pregnancy. Nevertheless, it has a very low abrasivity level; we recommend using a more abrasive toothpaste for adults. Also, the fluoride dose is not sufficient for an adult (which is 1450 ppm according to UFSBD recommendations).

What do the ppm on your toothpaste mean?

PPM (parts per million) measures the fluoride concentration in toothpaste. Fluoride is a key ingredient in protecting teeth from cavities by strengthening enamel.

For adults, a concentration of 1450 is generally recommended.

For children, the dosage depends on age and specific needs, but it must be lower than for adults. This is why our toothpastes contain 1000 ppm of fluoride.

Our toothpastes are formulated with 1000 ppm, in accordance with UFSBD recommendations, to ensure optimal protection while remaining gentle on teeth and gums.

If you have any doubts about the appropriate concentration for your child, do not hesitate to consult your dentist!
