FAQ

Does your toothpaste contain fluoride?

Yes, we offer two fluoride-enriched toothpastes following the latest UFSBD recommendations for children who are not at particular risk of cavities.

How did you determine the fluoride dosage?

The UFSBD provides the following recommendations regarding the amount and dosage of toothpaste:

  • 6 months - 3 years: a smear of toothpaste with 1000 ppm
  • 3 - 6 years: a pea-sized amount of toothpaste with 1000 ppm
  • From 6 years old to adulthood: a full brush length of toothpaste with 1000 ppm

How to control toothpaste dosage to follow recommendations?

For the youngest children aged 6 months to 3 years, the UFSBD recommendation seems difficult for a young child to follow (a trace of 1,000 ppm toothpaste).
We chose to reduce the fluoride concentration to 500 ppm with an easier-to-manage quantity: one pump of the tube: a pea-sized amount.
For children aged 3-6 and 6-12 years: we followed the fluoride dosage recommended by the UFSBD, with a quantity that is easy to manage and adapt according to age, as each pump of the tube = a pea-sized amount.

From what age should one brush their teeth?

You can start brushing your little ones' teeth as soon as they get them! It's never too early to start good habits!

Can my child ingest your toothpaste?

In the event of accidental ingestion, yes, there are no concerns as our formula is 100% natural. However, we do not particularly recommend spreading it on toast ;)

How abrasive is your toothpaste?

Can I use your toothpaste myself?

Our toothpaste has a very low level of abrasiveness; we recommend using a more abrasive toothpaste for adults. Also, the fluoride dose is not sufficient for an adult (which is 1450 ppm according to UFSBD recommendations).

Does your toothpaste contain sugar?

No.
It contains Xylitol, Erythritol, and Sorbitol.
These are 100% natural “sugars” (their scientific name is polyols) that are non-caloric and non-cariogenic, making them suitable for diabetic children and preventing cavities. Our toothpaste adds a slightly sweet flavor to the formula to make brushing enjoyable.

What is the pH of your toothpaste?

Our toothpaste has a pH of 7, so it's neutral. No acidity to protect the fragile enamel of little teeth.

Does your toothpaste contain nanoparticles?

Why do you use silica, and is it dangerous?

We have chosen to use silica in our toothpaste because we believe it is the safest solution.
Silica is ultra-pure sand with a meticulously controlled particle size, between 7 and 13 micrometers.
We preferred to avoid using clay due to its irregular particle size, its lead content (as the samples we sourced contained approximately 1.3 mg of lead per kilo. This complies with cosmetic standards (2mg/kg) but we can never be too careful and preferred not to use it, can we?) and its composition which can vary depending on the season and its origin.
We also decided to avoid baking soda because it imparts a very bitter taste that is impossible to mask: not ideal for children.

I'm pregnant, can I use your toothpaste?

Our toothpaste does not contain essential oils or substances that could harm your health during pregnancy. However, it has a very low abrasiveness level, so we recommend using a more abrasive toothpaste for adults. Also, the fluoride dose is not sufficient for an adult (which is 1450 ppm according to UFSBD recommendations).
